Tony Hodgson
Tony was born in Northern Rhodesia, moved to South Africa as a school boy and completed his education here. His feel for art developed early as a means of expression and involvement with the dynamics of nature. As life's tapestry unfolded before him, city life, adventures around Southern Africa, a love affair with the "Wild Coast" Eastern Cape and finally studying Horticulture in Durban.

Tony's art can be distinguished by seeing a good pattern of composition in landscape that has unity, balance, a oneness.

When Tony works in Acrylics, the challenge of painting is like walking a tight rope between discipline and freedom.

Since moving back to Somerset West, after been involved in indigenous coastal landscaping, Tony has been experimenting with acrylics, beads, sequins, jewelry and other materials in his art creations.

Texture where layer by layer is built up, is leading Tony to use a lot of paint but also create some very interesting original art works.
